Allstate towing reimbursment
by: Big Don

Allstate has a plan where they give you cards and a number to call and they'll dispatch a wrecker to come get you. It is the same fee as towing insurance and you do not have to pay out of pocket. My son got this and then had a 30 mile tow for no out of pocket cost.

I wanted the same plan but they wouldn't give it to me. I have to pay the wrecker then submit the receipt and get reimbursed. My wrecker company keeps raising their rates to stay ahead of what Allstate will pay.

Does anyone know the plan name and why can't I have it?

Our Answer: The Allstate plan that you are referring to is simply called "towing reimbursement coverage" (or JJ coverage). If you are getting towed on a regular basis, or even if you are not, it is a great plan to have. The cost is usually very low: only a few dollars per payment period. If you have an Allstate agent, you need to ask your agent why you have been refused the coverage. Is it because you do not have Collision or Comprehensive coverage on your vehicle, or because of the age? Only your agent can answer.
